I'M A SEAMSTRESS!! I didn't even know it!

Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about my wonderful generous Mother buying me a Cricut Expression? Well, I got to snooping around the Internet looking for a dust cover and I found out that people make these and sell them or $30! Holy SMOKES. I said, NO WAY, give me some fabric, I'll figure this out. And figure it out I did. I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Just wanted to share my first sewing success!

Thanks for listening!!!

Hippity Hop...{Ippity} Style!!!!! Happy Memorial Day!!!

Good morning!!! I had such a time with this week's {Ippity} Something Faux Challenge at Splitcoast . I chose to use not only a new product that I have never tried before, but I also reached for a stamp that I had never stamped with before.
First the cool product. Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas. This product is so versatile. You could even run it in the printer and your image will come out amazing. This product is also very useful with new Itop brad maker. The sticky back really comes in handy when attaching the brad.

My new stamps is once again {Ippity}, A Bit of Burlap. I stamped the image onto the canvas using Chocolate Chip craft ink, did a little distressing on the sides and chaaa-ching!! I love it.

I guess I used three things that I have never used before on this card. I also used the Bazzill Basics In Stitches Templates. The canvas was super easy to stitch on. I loved all these products so much! Fun, fun, fun challenge!!!

Here is what I used on the rest of the card:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up
Stamps: A Bit of Burlap, A Moment In Time & The Simple Things ({Ippity} by Unity Stamp Co.)
Ink: Only Orange, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red (Stampin' Up)
Border Punch: Upper Crest (Fiskars)
Extras: In Stitches Templates (Bazzil Basics); Embroidery Thread & Rhinestones (Joann's), Sticky Back Canvas (Ranger)

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my card. Please let me know what you think!!

Have a super day!

Day 86 @ 365 Cards....

I only get a few days a week to play in my craft room and let all of reality slip away for a few hours. BUT...there is a challenge blog called 365 Cards that posts a challenge everyday (hence the name). I just don't have time to get there day after day. I always read what the challenge is in my Google reader and see the beautiful creations the design team made, but I never participate.

Well, today I did. The challenge was seemed simple, but had limitations. When I had completed the card, I felt like there was so much that I still needed to do with it, but according to the challenge. I.Was.Done.

The challenge was use one stamped image, one stamped sentiment, and one embellishment. Seemed easy, but at the end, I felt interrupted. Ohhhhh Welll....it still turned out cute, and gave me a reason to use the darling stamps from the Unity Stamp Co. May Kit of the Month A Little Happy! I hadn't had a change to use it yet due to my drooling over all the new {Ippity} Spring 2010 new releases!

Here is what else I used:
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Pixie Pink (Stampin' Up)
Stamps: A Little Happy (Unity Stamp Co.)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink, Yoyo Yellow (Stampin' Up); Jet Black (Stazon)
Border Punch: Eyelet Border Punch (Stampin' Up)

The lace at the bottom of the sentiment is Paper Lace, a fun technique. You can see a video tutorial HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please let me know you where here and let me know what you think of my card.

Have a good day!

A Split Coast Stamper Sketch Challenge...

Good morning!!

Today I am sharing a card that is kind of new for me. I am trying to meet a design call, that is asking for cards with metal embellishments. I just so happened to have this GREAT Tim Holtz Bird Cage die on my desk and a piece of embossing metal. Hmmmm....What a great combo!!! I then used Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks and gave it all some good color. There you have it!!

Now, in comes the Split Coast Stampers Card Sketch challenge. This is a challenge that is posted every Wednesday on the thread if you would like to join next week.
While making this card, I realized that I don't use my Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps, Tim Holtz Idealogy and Alcohol Inks enough. It seems that once I get out one of his products, they all come out.

Here is what I made this card with....
Cardstock: Really Rust, Soft Suede, Glossy (Stampin' Up); Patterned Paper: Autumn Meadows DSP (Stampin' Up); Stamps: Fancy Flourish (Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous); Flourishes (CTMH); Ink: Big & Juicy Meadow (Ranger), and watermark ink (Ranger); Dies: Tim Holtz Bird Cage Die (Sizzix), Tim Holtz Idealogy; Metal Tag Rims (Making Memories)

Once again, thank you so much for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my card.

Have a super weekend!!!

Another Father's Day Card....

Oh my goodness....I can't wait to go Fly Fishing!! I am not very good, and every summer, the first few times Hubs and I go out fishing, it is like the first time I fished. Why does it seem like I have to re-learn every year. Making these Father's Day cards has really got me ready for some sun and a stream!!

This card was SUPER easy to make and I love how simply elegant it is (as elegant as a man card can get...hehe)

I used a fun little machine on this card that I haven't used in a long time. My wonderful crafty enabler Mother, got me a Zyron Design Runner. It has a ton of little Design Cards (this link will show you all the cards). The Zyron Design Cards have fonts and images. There are also Blank Discs and a disc creator. You can type your own message and it can be put onto the blank disc in a Zyron font. It is super fun and soooo limitless. The only down side to the Zyron runner is they have limited ink colors. Black, red, and green. ZYRON....if you are listening....can you please make brown ink??? Thanks!!

Here is what I used to make this card:
Cardstock: Kraft, Very Vanilla (Stampin' Up)
Embossing Folder: Houndstooth (Cuttlebug)
Stamps: Fly Fishing (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Jet Black (Stazon), Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up)
Sentiment: Festive Greetings Design Disc, Design Runner (Zyron)
Extras: Scalloped Rectangle (Nestabilities)

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today and taking a look at my newest Father's Day cards.

Please take the time to leave a comment and let me know if you like the card as much as I do!

Have a super day!!

Cricut Expression & Gypsy

Good morning my blogging friends!!
Those of you that know me, know that I am lucky to have the most kind, beautiful and generous Mother a girl could have. I am truly blessed with her and I just don't get to see her enough. I live in Montana and she lives in Arizona. It is quite a trip to get together.
One thing that we keep up on everyday is our crafting! We talk everyday about what were doing, what were working on, etc, etc.
My Mother was kind enough to buy me a Cricut Expression in the past few weeks, and I thought that no Cricut Expression should go without a Gypsy companion, so I picked up one of those for myself.
I have only had time to make a few cuts with the new Cricut, but so far, I am in love. I also am loving the Gypsy. It has taken some more time than the Cricut Baby Bug to get used too, but I am getting there.

The diecut images on today's card was designed on the wonderful Cricut Gypsy, and cut on the wonderful Cricut Expression. Thank you so much MOM!!!

Here are the other products I used to make today's card...
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin' Up); Blue Metallic (Wausau)
Ink: Baja Breeze (Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Clear Birthday Stamps (Fiskars)
Extras: Die Cut Machine (Cricut); Song Bird (Cricut Cartridge); Blue Flower (Prima); White Flower (CTMH); Silver Cord (Joann's); Sizzix Texture Plates

I was telling you yesterday that I started making a card from every sketch in the Go To Sketches magazine by Paper Crafts. Please check out my progress in my new Slide album to the right of this post!

Please let me know how you like my card!!! I love it when you leave me comments!!!

Have a super day! I hope you having a GREAT weekend!

My New "Slide" Album!

Recently I purchased a copy of the new Paper Craft magazine Go To Sketches. There are 162 pages of awesome inspiration in there. If you haven't purchased this sketch book yet, I would make a point of it!!

I decided to get the most out of this magazine, I needed to make a card for every sketch in this book. So I started from the beginning a week or so ago, and today I made Sketch #2. I have made a Slide album featuring all the cards that I made from the Go To Sketch magazine. On the album, I have the photo matching the number of Sketch that it is.

This card is really unique and a little bit fun!! The ribbon on the left side of card is attached to a gift tag. The tag can be pulled out and there is a sentiment on the tag.

Here are the other products that I used to make this card:
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Red Riding Hood (Stampin' Up)
Patterned Paper: Washington Apple DSP (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Red Riding Hood, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie (Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Circle Circus, Happy Everything (Stampin' Up)
Ribbon: Red Riding Hood Striped Ribbon (Stampin' Up)

NEEEXT.....Father's Day

Finished the Mother's Day cards, NOW onto the next card giving occasion...Father's Day.

Today I am sharing two cards that are very similar, but look a little different. They also have different sentiments, but both will be given for Father's Day.

I used an EASY CHEESY technique, that I am sure has a fancy name. I guess I would call it "Blending Solution Resist". I used alcohol inks on the blue background, and then sprayed my background stamp with blending solution and stamped on top of the alcohol inked background. The picture doesn't show alot of the detail, but in person it is a WOW!!!

Here is what I used to make the cards:
Cardstock: So Saffron, Bravo Burgandy (Stampin' Up);
Patterned Paper: Parisan Summer DSP (Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Fly Fishing, Wonderful You (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Jet Black (Stazon)
Accessories: Black Brads (Bazzill Basics)

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look at my card. I would love it if you would leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Have a super day! Hope to see you again soon!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Good morning!! I finally have completed the last of my Mother's Day cards. This one was so hard to get a good photo of. It is holographic and of coarse the image changes with every turn of the card.

This card was super easy to make and hopefully the recipient will be happy with it.

A few years ago at a scrapbook store in Great Falls, Montana, I picked up with holographic paper. The store has since had a fire and didn't reopen, so I can't recall who makes the paper, but if anyone know, please let me know, because I want more. It was super fun to play with.

The paper started out silver, and I used Citrus Alcohol ink in it to give it the lime green color. The recipient LOVES lime green. After the alcohol ink, I used a Dreamweaver Stencil and pearly embossing paste with a sprinkle of glitter, and it was a done. I know she will love it.

Here are the products I used:
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Citrus Alcohol Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Happy Mothers Day Stencil (Dreamweaver); Pearl Embossing Paste (Dreamweaver); Die Cuts : Beautiful Wings (Stampin' Up); Pearls (Recollections); Glitter (Stampin' Up)

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope all of you Mother's have a wonderful day. Maybe you will get some crafty time!!!

Dreamweavers Stencils....

I recently got an email from the designer of Dreamweaver Stencils and creator of all the wonderful product that Dreamweaver's produces, saying that she had visited my blog and thought that I had a "fun and fresh" approach to card making. As some of you know, I rant and rave about Dreamweaver's Stencil and products all the time., so you can imagine my excitement to read her email.

Just a few days ago I received a follow up email asking me to submit three cards that I have to send to Dreamweavers for a chance to be on their design team. I am so honored that they even would consider my cards as part of their team.

This is one of the cards that I made to send to them. It is a stencil and glitter technique that I used when I first started using their products.

Here is what I used to make this card:
Cardstock: Whisper White (Stampin' Up), Copper Shimmer Paper (Island Paperie)
Glitter: Fire Quartz (Martha Stewart), Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up)
Stencil: Dreamweaver
Stamps: Happy Everything (Stampin' Up)
Extras: Copper Embossing Powder (Pumpkin Carriage-Missoula, Montana); Brads(Joann's Craft Essentials); Sticky Paper (unknown)

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look today! Please let me know what you think of my card. I really need to feedback if I want to get on this design team.

Have a super day!!!!

Island Paperie Product Challenge

As some of you know, I recently took a holiday in beautiful MAUI!! Oh man, it was the best vacation I have been on to date. I went with my Mom, and it was restful, peaceful, quiet...etc, etc. I'm sure you can imagine.

On the last day of our visit to Maui, we went to Island Paperie. I believe it is the only scrapbook store on the island. My mom and I had a "hayday". We got a ton of product for our Hawaii scrapbooks and a bunch of stuff not for our Hawaii scrapbooks. While I was there, I did outfit myself on Dreamweaver brass stencils and embossing pastes. I am now in love with that company and the products.

Island Paperie has alot of product that they produce themselves. Rubber stamps, scrapbook paper and albums. The list goes on and on. Please take the time to go to Island Paperie's web page and see what you can pick up for your Hawaii vacation albums.

When I got home from Maui, I became a fan of Island Paperie on Facebook and signed up for their newsletter. In the newsletter they tell about their new product and their challenges that they are hosting that month.

This page I have entered into their "Whale Watching" page contest. Even though I had a ton of whale watching photo's, I had hardly anything to decorate this page with. I will list below all the Island Paperie product that I used on this page!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red (Stampin' Up); Patterned Paper: Plumeria, Basket Weave (original designs from Island Paperie); Die Cuts: White Hibiscus Corner Laser Cut (Island Paperie); Rub-On's: Tropical Impress-On's (Creative Imaginations, (i got this for free at Island Paperie); Alpha's: Plain Alpha's Grungeboard (Tim Holtz); Extra's: Picket Fence Acrylic Paint (Adirondack), Gold Memory Mist, Cotton Candy & Lime Green Stickles.

The Hibiscus corner laser cut was white to begin with, but I put Stickles all over it to give it some color and some bling.

In conclusion, just so you know, after the whale watching adventure I went on, I have a whole new appreciation for ocean life photographers. It takes a really long time and a really quick reaction time to get one of those amazing photo's that you see with the whale jumping in the air and being all perfect, the whales should be. If you look really close at my photo's, those were the only ones that I could even see tail, let alone a jump from the water. I took about 300 photo's in that four hour period. Even though I didn't get the amazing photo, I did see lots of whale jumps and it is beautiful. If you ever get the chance to whale watch or go on an adventure, please do. Whales are interesting creatures and what they go through to bear their young is awesome.

Thank you Island Paperie for having this challenge! I can't wait to participate next time!!!

Unity Anniversery Challenges DAY THREE!!

I know that I am few days off of posting these SCS challenge cards for the Unity Stamp Co. 2 year anniversary party. Oh well, at least they are getting posted.

This adorable simple card is doubling as my Day Three challenge card and my friend Jenny's birthday card. The challenge for this card was to use the first set of Unity Stamps that you ever bought. The first set that I bought was in August 2009. I decided to sign up for the Kit of the Month, and what I got was around 25 rubber, beautiful little treasures. The kit was called Following My Heart. I have made so many cards and scrapbook pages with that set, I love it. I even made MAN cards with that set. Well, the MAN card was kind of girly. It was for my Anniversary!

On this card I used a new technique that I recently tried out. Paper Flowers, HERE is a link to a EASY tutorial. My next flower technique is going to be those cute tissue paper flowers that seem to be all the rage now.

Anyhow....Here is what I used to make my Unity Stamp Co. Day Three Anniversary Challenge card.

Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Pink Piroette (Stampin' Up); Stamps: Following My Heart (Unity Stamp Co.); Ink: Jet Black (Stazon); Pixie Pink (Stampin' Up); Embossing Folder: Floral Flourishes (Sizzix); Punch: Scalloped Circle (Stampin' Up); Accessories: Pearl Brads (Reflections)

Once again, thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out all the other fun challenges over at the Unity Forum on SCS.

Please feel free to leave a comment! Your comments leave me inspired to keep making cards and other FUN stuff.

Have a super weekend!!!
