This is it….the Stampendous Shaped Card Challenge ends this WEEK!!

Oh my goodness, it is the last week of March already!

All month long the Stampendous team has challenge you to create shaped cards.

This week I chose to use the Largest dies in the  Scalloped French Flair and French Flair Classic Nesting Dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I scored both cuts down the center to  make my card base and front panel.

I stamped the front panel with the beautiful Cling Jumbo Iris.  I am in love with the medallion in this set.

I stamped the bird cage and bird from the Tweet Cages Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.

I heat embossed the bird cage on black paper with the fabulous Stampendous White Embossing Powder.  Cut is out and hung it from a jump ring on the bow.

Dreamweaver Stencils March Clean & Simple (CAS) Challenge

Good morning!!!

I had a really good question from a store owner this week.  What do you do with the stencils that have no edge?  Of course this stencil has an edge, but not like other stencils that leave the negative image.  This Cherry Blossom Shape is the image.  I suggested to her dry embossing and double glitter techniques.

I came home and made this sample for her store.

DreamweaverCAS32912

I applied Hawaiian soap to the back of the Cherry Blossom Stencil and placed is on the Double Sided Mounting Paper.  I sprinkled black glitter around where the stencil is mounted.  Once the glitter is in place and the stencil is removed, I added fuchsia glitter to where the stencil was “protecting” the Double Sided Mounting paper.

I added a heat embossed sentiment and some glitter sticker borders.  Clean & Simple.

Create your Clean and Simple creation (Dreamweaver Stencils' products) and link it to the Dream It Up! blog from your own blog, online gallery, or just sent us an email (lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com) of your creation for us to show off on the blog. At the end of March, we will select two winners to win a set of these stencils each:

Stampendous Saturday Shaped Card March Challenge

As you can tell from three of the last four Shaped Card post, I haven’t been playing with the challenge.  I will have one final chance next week and a shaped card it will be.

Today I am sharing three cards that I have made for local retail store samples that I have yet to share.

Stampendous Cling Jumbo Water Lily

Stampendous-CopicWater-Lily

This image was simply stamped and colored with Copic Markers with a Pointillism Coloring Technique.  I cut the image out curved the petals a bit by wrapping them around a pencil and adhered to the front panel of the card.

Birthday Assortment Perfectly Clear Stamp Set

Stampendous-E.Crafts

The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with Hematite PearLustre Embossing Powder.

The background is a Fire Opal Shimmer Sheet that I dry embossed with an embossing folder, the color was sanded off of the Shimmer Sheet and then I rubbed Stazon over the sanded area.  VERY simple technique!!

Fluffles Look Up & Summer Tree Fun Perfectly Clear Set

Stampendous-FlufflesCopic-T

This is a store sample I made for a Copic class.  The focal image was stamped and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  I added a bit of texture to Fluffles fur with Copic Blending Solution and a piece of terry cloth towel.

Dreamweaver Stencils CAS March Challenge!!

Good morning!!

It’s March and all month the Dreamweaver Design Team is creating Clean & Simple cards for our March Challenge!! There is a fabulous prize up for grabs this month! All you have to do is create a Clean and Simple card and upload it to the Dream It Up blog!!

My creation this week was made with a simple technique using Metallic FX and Dreamweaver Glossy Black Paste.

DreamweaverCAS32212

I pasted the Thank You (LM146) and one of Dreamweaver Stencil’s newest releases, Pointed Celtic Knot (LG742) with Glossy Black Embossing Paste. Pssst…this stencil is included in the monthly prize!!

Once the Pointed Celtic Knot was dry, I replaced my clean, dry stencil over the top of the dry paste and applied Versamark Watermark Ink over the top of the dry paste and applied Glacier, Plum Royal and Ivy Garden Metallic FX over the Watermark Ink with a stiff bristled stencil brush.

In this picture, you can see the shimmer a bit better.

DreamweaverCAS32212(2)

This is one of many techniques that can be created with the fabulous jars of Metallic FX. If you’re interested in the PDF version, please leave your email address in the comments section of this post, and I will email the PDF to you.

Create your Clean and Simple creation (Dreamweaver Stencils' products) and link it to the Dream It Up! blog from your own blog, online gallery, or just sent us an email (lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com) of your creation for us to show off on the blog. March2012-digibloghop

The Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge ladies are bringing you a Fun Blog Hop for our March Digi Release!!

While you’re hopping, be sure to leave some love on each of the blog hop posts…One of the ladies below is a mystery blogger and she will be picking a random winner from the comments on her blog post!!

The winning prize will be the whole March Digi Release!! (The winner will be announced here on Friday, March 23rd.)

Before we get to the challenge for this week how about we share those new digis....

SNSSDigi31612

The cool thing about the color green and me, is green is all I need to be inspired.  I know that GREEN is my color!!   The two of us are meant to be!

Lately, I have been enjoying the color purple as well, especially with green.  Yesterday I did a bit of clothes shopping and this old girl really stepped outside of her comfort/style zone and bought some lavender and green clothes.  This is a huge step for a girl who lives by “you can’t go wrong with black, brown and white”.

I thought I would follow that frame of mind today with my Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps new March digis!!  I colored the Morning Glory’s and found such a simple, yet pretty patterned paper that has been hidden in the back depths of a 12 x 12 drawer!!  Top off the project with Psalm 46:1…I’m in love!!

And now for today's challenge:

Be inspired by GREEN

Just a few things to keep in mind as you play....

Please remember to use digital images ONLY for the challenge.

~You don't have to use SNS digi images to play along but we sure do love when you do!

~Please share a link to your creation using the Linky feature at the end of this post. If the link feature is down, please add a link with your comment.

~When uploading to online galleries, please use keyword SNSDC45.

Now head off to the DT blogs to see their fabulous green inspired creations...

Carol Longacre

Ceal Pritchett

Harriet Skelly

Jessica Stockmeyer

Kim O’Connell

Makiko Jones

Margo Smith

Stephanie Serrano

Wendy Jordan

And one last thing!…

Every card you enter into our challenges throughout March, you will get one entry to be eligible for winning 3 digis of your choice from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store. Plus, if your card is used SNSS digi stamps, it will be two entries!! Be sure to play along every week... The more you play and/or use SNS digis, the more chances you get to win!!

Dreamweaver Stencils CAS March Challenge!!

Good morning and welcome to Dreamweaver's Dream Scheme Thursday!!

Our team is so excited to bring you the Clean and Simple March Challenge!!

We ask you to play along for your change to win a few FABBULOUS stencils from Dreamweaver Stencils!!

Here is a stenciled card that I made for the January 2012 Release!

DW-Rainbow-Thank-You

I used the Double Glitter Technique for this card.  If your interested in the Double Glitter Technique in PDF version, please ask in the comments and leave your email address.

The stencils I used were released at Winter CHA.

LX7011 Big Dots

LS1009 thank you

Cover the backside of your stencil with Hawaiian Coconut Soap.  I make sure that there is a good coating of soap on the stencil. If there isn’t enough soap on the back of the stencil, your stencil will stick to the Double Sided Mounting Paper.  Once a good amount of soap has been placed on stencil, remove one side of the protective backing from the Double Sided Mounting Paper and adhere stencil to sticky side.

At this time, I like to take the backing from the Double Sided Mounting Paper and put the waxy side down and burnish the stencil onto the sticky paper.  With this accomplished, glitter will not get underneath the stencil and make your image blurry.

Your ready to start layering your glitter.  This certain project used six colors of glitter, plus a black and a transparent.

Once all of your glitter is in place, I shake off excess and also go over the entire project with a Glitter Magnet, which is similar to a tacky cloth.  It is important to to get the excess glitter off, when you peel your stencil away from the sticky paper, the glitter that isn’t adhered, will fly in the areas of the sticky paper that won’t give you a crisp image.

Remove your stencil from your Double Sided Mounting Paper, and sprinkle your white or transparent glitter over the rest of the open/sticky area.  Repeat process for sentiment.

Supplies:

Stencils: Big Dots, thank you (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Paper: Blackberry (Bazzill Paper Co.); Double Sided Mounting Paper (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Glitter: Black, Liberty Blue, Light Copper, Fire Red, Orange, Sea Green, Lilac, Yellow (Glitter Ritz); Multi Crystal Transparent (Stampendous)

Now you have the opportunity to play along. Create your own Clean and Simple design (preferably with Dreamweaver Stencils' products) and link it to the Dream It Up! blog from your own blog, online gallery, or just sent us an email (lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com) of your creation for us to show off on the blog. At the end of March, we will select two winners to win a set of these stencils each:

Stampendous Saturday Shaped Card March Challenge!!

Have you checked out the new challenge with the Stampendous team this month!  Each Saturday in March, we'll be challenging ourselves (and you!) to make a shaped card or project - something other than the traditional square or rectangular card. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Stampendous-ShapedCards

I had a bit of fun with my Copic Airbrush Compressor this week.  I was trying to simulate a sea feeling behind this By The Sea stamp!  I really do like the end result.  I also couldn’t stop with the the sea green color.  I had to add in some “treasure”, Fran*tage style.  Click here is a video that Fran created, using the Encrusted Jewel technique.

Supplies:
Stamps: Cling By The Sea CRW068 (Stampendous)
Paper: Mohawk Bright White (Kelly Paper Company
Ink: Copic Sketch Markers BG15, BG13, BG11 (Imagination International); Versafine Vintage Sepia (Tsukineko)
Extras: Airbrush Compressor (Imagination International); Aged Bronze Embossing Enamel, Shaved Ice, Blue Glass Glitter, Green Glass Glitter, Gold Halo Glitter (Stampendous); Die Cuts (Spellbinders)

Dreamweaver Stencils March Challenge!! Clean & Simple!

After the Dreamweaver Stencils' February challenge of St. Pat's or Green, are you a little tired of green? Then this month provides the opportunity of doing any color you wish...including green. However, you have to keep it clean...and simple! Yep. We are challenging you to create with your Dreamweaver products in a CAS style. This is our way of encouraging you to begin your "Spring Cleaning" a little early, and far more fun than sorting cupboards and washing windows!

Dreamweaver030712

I love Crackle Paste! I paste embossed the Handled Vase Stencil (LG707) with Matte Black Embossing Paste. Once the Matte Black paste was dry, I layered Crackle Paste over the top. I set it aside to dry. The dry time for the Crackle Paste over the Matte paste is about two hours in my area. Once the Crackle was dry and beautifully crackled, I replaced, my clean and dry Vase stencil and added a bit of ink to the image. While the Vase stencil was still in place, I layered the Tall Poppy (LL3023) over the top and applied Black Brilliance Ink through the Poppy stencil.

My background was cut out successfully with my Cricut Expression, thanks to my wonderful Stampendous Design Team. They walked me through a “difficult Cricut moment” yesterday!!!
