Dreamweaver Christmas....

Here today to share another Christmas card made with Dreamweaver Stencils. This was my fourth card made for my assignment. I did make one other card that I sent to Lynell, but silly me did not photograph it and I had used some stencils that I already had, not my assignment stencils.

This was a fun card to make. It has alot of steps, but I think the end result was worth it.
First, I used Gold Embossing paste to paste the sentiment and the legs of the sleigh. After that dried, I put my LJ904 Sleigh stencil back over the top of the paper and the already gold embossed areas. I used the scroll stamp from Tim Holtz Stamper Anonymous "Mini Holidays" stamp set to stamp just the sleigh, remember, I had the stencil in place at this time. I used a heat tool to speed up the drying process of the pigment ink. Once I had the ink dry enough, I paste embossed only the sleigh again with Translucent Embossing Paste, I immediately removed the stencil again, not only for cleaning purposes, but if you have wet embossing paste, sometimes the stencil will dry to the paper, then it tears when trying to remove it. It was very important that the paste was dry for the next step, so I let it sit overnight.

The next morning, I got out my Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint. With the stencil in place I lathered on the crackle paint, removed the stencil and let it dry (which only took about an hour).
Once the crackle paint was dry, stencil in place again, using Walnut Stain Distress Ink, I sponged as much as I wanted onto the SLEIGH only, I then took a paper towel, rubbed off the excess ink, at the same time, pushing ink into the cracks of the Rock Candy Crackle paint. I hope you can see the ink in the cracks. I loved the effect and I hope you can get an opportunity to try it also.
Here are the supplies that I used:
Card Stock: Brown Shimmer (Island Paperie); Cream Pearl (Coredinations)
Stamps: Mini Holiday (Stamper Anonymous for Tim Holtz)
Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip (Stampin 'Up)
Stencils: LJ904 (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Embossing Pastes: Gold Metallic, Translucent (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Extras: Tim Holtz "Rock Candy" Crackle Paint, Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink, EK Success Corner Punch
