Unity Stamp Co. Anniversary Challenge Day Two

Hello....Happy Thursday to all!

Day Two of the Unity Stamp Co. Anniversary party festivities brought us to creating cards that had a Bird or Tree theme. Of course we had to use all Unity Stamp Co. stamps.

I have just recently been introduced to Unity stamps. It is a good thing that I have not been buying or collecting Unity Stamps for the whole two years, I wouldn't have a place to sit in my craft room. It has only been 8 short months of receiving Kits of the Month and I have filled a Scraponizer and started on another. I have another stamp storage system for the {Ippity} stamp sets that I have picked up along the way as well.

To the matter at hand....Here is how I created the card for the Day Two Challenge:

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Kraft Whisper White (Stampin' Up); Patterned Paper: Parisan Breeze DSP ( Stampin' Up); Stamps: Delightful Moments (Dec. KOM) & Savor the Journey (Jan. KOM~Both by Unity Stamp Co); Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft Ink (Stampin' Up) & Versamark; Accessories: Clear Detail Embossing Powder

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and take a look today! Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know exactly how you feel about my card.

Before I tell you to have a super day, check out the Unity Stamp Co. Web Site where you can still get your Unity April Kit of the Month for $26 for only a few more day!

OK....Now go have a GOOD day!!

Working on Mother's Day Cards

Good morning!!

Hubs and I made is back from Las Vegas in one piece!! Thank goodness that is over for another year. Every time I go to LV, it takes me a week to recover! Not enough sleep, a bit to much to drink, to much money spent, etc, etc, etc.

I have taken some of my time this week to work on some Mother's Day cards. It is fast approaching, and knowing me, if I don't get a jump start, I won't get it done.

On Monday I got some new product from Stencils with Style, that I was dying to try. I have recently been introduced to Dreamweaver Brass stencils and embossing pastes. I absolutely love them. They are so fun and easy to use.

In my package on Monday I had some stencils and some Metallic FX powder. It is a shimmer that you sprinkle over your embossing pastes when it is drying. Great effect, that a photo cannot give justice to.

The cardstock I used is a beautiful pink shimmer paper that I purchased in Hawaii at Island Paperie. This paper that is their own signature brand, is so beautiful. I bought it in pink, green and copper. I love it. Once again, a photo cannot describe. If you love shimmery paper, I would definitely check out their website. They ship from Maui and FAST also!!

Here is what I used:
Cardstock: Island Paperie, Basic Black (Stampin' Up); Stamps: Well Scripted (Stampin' Up); Brass Stencil: Dreamweavers; Embossing Pastes: Dreamweaver Glossy Black; Metallic FX: Moonflicker; Dies: Birds & Blooms (Stampin' Up), Labels 11 (Spellbinders); Ribbon: 5/8 Black Satin (Stampin' Up); Ink: Versamark; Detail Black Embossing Powder

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look. Your comments keep me inspired. I would love to hear what you have to say about my card.

I hope you have a super weekend!!

***UNITY FRIENDS WITH FLAIR*** Blog Hop!!!

Good morning!!! It's an even better morning, because right now I am in SUNNY Las Vegas, Nevada!!! Wooo-hoooo !! Anyway...down to the matter at hand.

Welcome to Unity's Friends with Flair Blog Hop. I couldn't let a small out of town trip with my wonderful husband get in the way of a Unity Blog Hop!! Today I chose to use Jimmi's Hip Hop Sketch Challenge as my flair. Once again, I used my new fav technique...Watermark Resist (you can see a video HERE). This card is a little funky and kind of out of my comfort zone. There was no uniform way of putting this card together. Surprisingly, it felt good.

Here is what I used:
Cardstock: Glossy White (Ranger), Pixie Pink, Whisper White (Stampin' Up); Ink: Taken With Teal, Orchid Opulance, Pink Passion, Ballad Blue (Stampin' Up), Jet Black (Stazon), Big & Juicy Hydrangia (Ranger); Stamps: March Kit of the Month "Rockin It", February Kit of the Month "Nothing But Blue Skies" (Unity Stamp Co.); Extra's: Ribbon (Joann's), flower (American Crafts), brad (Joann's), crimper (Fiskers)

I love getting a brand new Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Co. in my mailbox monthly. Check out how you can also HERE. I know I include this on every post, but it is such a good deal, I have to pass it along. AND the stamps are awesome!!

Please let me know what you think of my "out of my comfort zone card". You comments inspire me to keep heading down to my craft room.

Have a super weekend!!!!

A Technique I Haven't Tried Before....

The other day I was at my friendly, local scrapbook store, Memory Lane Scrap booking (become a FB fan), in beautiful Missoula, Montana, when I notice the most beautiful card. I could tell there had been some resist technique there, but it was not "bumpy". I could clearly see that there had not been any clear embossing powder used. The color of ink was gorgeous. The gal that was originally helping me said that she didn't know how they had made it, except that she knew they had used a brayer. Hmmmm. I thought I was going to have to sit in on this class.

Well, to my luck, in comes an owner of the store and she shows me all the supplies I need to use this technique. It is called Watermark Resist Technique.

Here is what I used to make this card...
Cardstock: Whisper White, Brushed Silver (Stampin' Up), Glossy Paper (Inkssentials Ranger); Ink: Archival Ink, Big & Juicy Waterfall ( Inkssentials Ranger); Stamps: Music to My Heart ({Ippity}); Punch: Loops (Martha Stewart); Ribbon: Bermuda Bay (Stampin' Up); Accessories: Mini Paper Clips (Ideaology-Tim Holtz)

Over all this card was really simple to make and you can watch a YouTube tutorial HERE.

As most of you know, I have recently found Unity and {Ippity} stamps and completely in love with them. Please take the time to check out the Unity Kit of the Month, and the cute, fun and hip new {Ippity} sets. You will have a Unity collection of your own in no time flat!!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look today. Please let me know what you think of my first try at my fun new technique!!

Have a great day!!

I am loving these Unity Challenges!!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!
I was really starting to get a feel for the spring weather here in Western Montana, until this morning. I woke up to rain and GIANT snowflakes. Craziness. I guess it is pretty typical Montana spring weather.
The wet, cold weather prompted me to make a pot of delicious Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee and head to the basement for a day of crafting.

For the last few weeks, I have been following the weekly Simple Sketch Challenge on the Unity Forum at SCS. It is exactly what I need to get started on my Hawaii 2010 album. I have been doing the challenge for 4 weeks and I have gotten 4 pages done. (YEAH!!!) You can see all the pages in MY GALLERY at SCS. Here is this weeks take on the sketch...

Here is what I used to make it...
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White (Stampin' Up) & Blue Metallic (Wausau); Stamps: Frame of Mind (CTMH); Alpha's: Stick With It adhesive transfers (Doodlebug Design) & Glitter Assortment (Doodlebug Design); Rub-On's: (Creative Imaginations)Lace: Joann's

A Couple Unity Challenges In One...

Good morning!!

It never fails that on my days off, the weather is horrible. Even though the sun is shining, we are having random snow showers. That makes is a little cold for any outdoor activity, which sends me right to the basement with a hot cup of coffee, and time for crafting.

For quite a few months, I have been receiving Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month. As a matter of fact, I have collected eight months of kits already. Not until just recently have I discovered how much I love these stamps and how versatile they really are. I have gotten involved in their forums at Splitcoast Stampers, where they post a great Simple Sketch Scrapbook Challenge,Color Challenge, and a Hip Hop Sketch Challenge.

I just can't say enough about these products. The also have a "sister" brand of stamps called{Ippity}. The project that I made today was made with {Ippity} Stamps.

This cards is for the Color Challenge Challenge and the Hip Hop Sketch Challenge from last week. Upon further review of the challenge I realized that I forgot the "twist" of the bunched ribbon. Darn it!!
Here is what I used to make it:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Purely Pomegranate, Creamy Carmel, & Tangerine Tango (Stampin' Up); Stamps: Music of My Heart ({Ippity} Stamps by Unity; Ink: Purely Pomegranate & Creamy Carmel (Stampin' Up); Embossing Folders: Medallions, Frame, & Damask (Sizzix), Organic Flourish Borders (Cuttlebug); Ribbon: Tangerine Tango & Purely Pomegranate (Stampin' Up); Glitter Glue: Burgundy Stickles

Thank you for stopping by!! Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of my new card.

You can check out the new April Kit of the Month by Unity Stamp Co {HERE}. It a great deal. You will get so much out of all the stamps you will receive.

Have a great day!!!

Good evening Blogging Friends! Again, I have finished the Simple Sketch Challenge from Unity. This page is also the kick off to my Hawaii album (YEAH!) Here is what I used:
Cardstock: Metallic (Wausau); Patterned Paper: Island Paperie, Stamps: December Kit of the Month (Unity Stamp Co.), Plumaria & Palm Tree Stamps ( Island Paperie), Dotted Lines Jumbo Roller Stamp (Stampin' Up); Ink: Hydrangea Big & Juicy (Ranger); Border:Hawaiian Buri Tie RikRak (Island Paperie); Die Cuts: Plumaria's (Island Paperie).
