Dreamweaver Stencils Free Theme Week!!

Good morning!!

This week is Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team’s Free Theme week and what that means is that we are free to create what our little heart desires!!  This week my heart desired to use sludge pasting and color a Zentangle.

Dreamweaver62311

My card today was fun and light and didn’t take long to make at all.  I chose three stencils, Celebrate Script(LS 90), Party Lanterns (LL550) and Mosaic Swirls (LJ901).

For my sludge pasting, I chose Glossy Red, Matte Orange and Matte Yellow.  I used Lynell Harlow’s “platform pasting” technique by taping down my stencil, making a hinge and adding another piece of tape to the top of my hinge.  I then used a “dollop” of each color of paste on the “platform”.  With my palette knife, I spread the paste like frosting on a cake.  I loved the end result.  I then pasted “Celebrate” with Glossy Red Paste.

Once my paste was dry, I spritzed with Bright Gold Memory Mist from Stewart Superior.  You can see where I got a couple of droplets in the corners.  I was upset at first, but after the card was complete.  I liked the effect.  That will teach me to continue spraying when I know the bottle is about gone!!

Since being introduced to Zentangle a few months ago by Design Team Sister Pam Hornschu and Lynell Harlow, I have bought four books and a slew of pens.  I am loving it way too much.  I also have three classes scheduled to show other’s how to Zentangle.

Here a card I made a few days ago…

DreamweaverColored-Zentangl

I simply traced the Boot (LG660) with a Copic Multiliner Pen and started doodling in the inside of the stencil.  Once I had finished “Zentangling”, I started to color the images with the lightest color of Letraset Markers I had.  I used Letraset ProMarkers Rubber Stamping 1 set.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look today at my “free” creations.  I hope you have the time to stop by the other members of the Dream Team and see what they are up too today.  There is a list of links to the right of this post, where you can find them.

Have a great day!!!

These two cards are so much fun. The colored zentangle is beautiful! Looks like you really enjoyed yourself on these cards.

I have never used this platform pasting technique using several colors of paste, and I love the results! That mosaic background is a favorite of mine, also. Thanks, I will be trying that pasting method soon. P.S. Great zentangle!

Love the patterning on your boot and the soft colors contrasted with the black. Very cool. Now you need to Zentangle the horses stencil. :)

Very cool. I love the sludge pasting on those lanterns. I will have to try that some time. The boot seems to be the "it" stencil for Zentangling. You have a very unique and cool spin on it.
