Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Institute Glitter Blog Collaberation!!

AND

ARE TEAMING UP THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JUNE TO BRING YOU AN AMAZING CREATIVE COLLABORATION MIXING DREAMWEAVER STENCILS AND ART GLITTER. COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE...WE PROMISE IT WILL BE A SPARKLING ONE!

In addition to posting my video and step by step instructions in this blog post.  I took a few extra pictures this week while creating my card.
I gathered all of my supplies
  • Hawaiian Coconut Soap
  • Glitter
  • Double Sided Mounting Paper
  • Glitter Scoop
  • Christmas Tree Stencil LG 746

Stencil before adding Soap
Stencil after adding
 soap

Using my Glitter Scoop, I added just bits of certain colors of glitter where I wanted.  I love the Doodlebug Glitter Scoop, because of the great precision  you get.

More precision applying of glitter.  Love the Doodlebug Glitter Scoop.

Finished front card panel.

Season's Greetings in July!!  With untraditional colors.  Ha!!

Last week I created a video using the Double Glitter Technique.  I am a visual learner, so I hope the video will make it easier for you to understand this easy technique.

Double Glitter Step by Step Instructions

1) Apply soap to the back of your stencil. The stencil is going to be placed on Double Sided Mounting Paper and the soap will prevent the stencil from sticking to the paper. Apply a generous amount of soap.  I like to add just a bit more when I think I have applied enough.
2) Place stencil, soap side onto the Double Sided Mounting Paper.  Save the protective backing from the paper, to press onto the top of your stencil to ensure that is properly adhered.
3) Apply glitter in desired areas, with desired colors.  Again, use the backing from the Double Sided Mounting Paper to press onto the top of the glitter and stencil to adhere as much glitter as you can.  Use a Glitter Magnet or Swiffer Duster to pick up excess bits of glitter from your project.  This is an important step.  The tiny bits of glitter will sit on top of the project or pile into the small crevices of the stencil, when the stencil is removed, the bits of glitter will fly to undesired area’s on the exposed Double Sided Mounting Paper.
4) Remove stencil from Double Sided Mounting Paper and sprinkle a white or transparent glitter on the rest of the exposed, adhesive area of the paper.
If you’re interested in a PDF version of the Double Glitter Technique, please leave me you’re email address and I would be happy to email the step by step directions to you.

Visit the Art Glitter blog and the Dream It Up! blog for fabulous inspiration from both talented design teams. We are encouraging all of you to play along with the challenge of creating with Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter*, preferably using the Double-Glitter Technique with a wedding theme. Stampendous & Clear Scraps Collaberation Week

Have you  been loving all the fabulous inspiration this week from the Clear Scraps Design Team and the Stampendous Team??  Tsukineko was also kind enough to donate Stazon products to this cause also!!  Thanks so much Tsukineko!!!

I am so thrilled to be apart of this amazing collaboration.  I love seeing what other teams can do with Stampendous products.

I chose the Send It Clear Heart card.  In the package is three pieces of the card, four clear adhesive stickers to hold everything together and a super cool clear envelope for mailing your project.

I started my project with the front interlocking clear panels.  All of the Clear Scraps panels have a plastic, frosty coating that must be removed before you start.

I stamped the front panels of the my card with Stampendous Vintage Frames Perfectly Clear Stamp Set and Tsukineko Platinum Metallic Stazon.  The lavender background papers were stamped (it is hard to see in this photo) with the music score from the  Stampendous Vintage Piano Perfectly Clear Stamp Set and Opaque Cotton White Stazon.  I added a bit of Dusty Concord to the background as well.

Rhinestone flourishes and flowers finished off the front card panel.

I wanted to make the back panel of the card a bit frosty, so I stamped Tsukineko Opaque Lilac Stazon to cover the area.  The image and flourishes are stamps from the versital Stampendous Vintage Piano Perfectly Clear Stamp Set and the sentiment is from Stampendous Sincere Sentiments.

Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper
Extras: border punch (Martha Stewart), Ribbon (Creative Impressions & May Arts)

Did I mention that Clear Scraps and Stampendous both have prizes up for grabs with this week of Blog Hopping!!!

There are three ways to win this fabulous prize...
  • Comment on the designers blog the five week days of the collaboration
  • Comment on the Clear Scraps and Stampendous Blog each five days of the collaboration
  • Follow along and comment on each of the designers blogs, Saturday, June 28th of the Blog Hop
Are you ready to be inspired by some fabulous eye candy....Check out these gals!!

Enjoy the rest of the hop and I will see you again tomorrow!!

Happy Father's Day!

Good morning crafty peeps!
Today is Father's Day and I wanted to post the Father's Day cards that I made for the Father's in my life!!

My first card is for my FABULOUS husband!!  He is such a great Father.  He never ceases to amaze me!

Now that I am looking at this picture, that doily really doesn't play into this manly theme.  Whoops!

My husband lives and works all year long so he can have most of September to November available for hunting.  He loves is and his annual Elk hunting trip is his favorite.
I found this silhouette of an Elk ironically enough for the Silhouette Cameo.
Supplies:
Paper: The Paper Loft, Bazzill Basics Paper
Stamps: Stampenodous
Die Cut: Silhouette Cameo
Ink: Tsukineko

Next is my Father!  What a full of life fun guy.  I am so blessed to have Hal as my Father.  My Father loves to boat on the lake and fish.

This fun stacked, stamped card was created with Flourishes Antique Map background stamp, which you can purchase from my website, Montana Craft Guild.  The stacked stamping is an easy technique to achieve that doesn't take any longer than stamping a regular image.
Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper
Stamps: Flourishes, Stampendous
Ink: Tsukineko
Extras: Tim Holtz Ideaology, Creative Impressions

Last but defiantly not least is my Father -In- Law!!  He loves old cars and has his first car, which is a 32 Ford that he will soon start to restore.  This older image from Tim Holtz is perfect for him...

This background was easy to achieve with Clear Embossing Powder, Distress Stains and a spritzer of water.
First I stamped the clocks with embossing ink, sprinkled clear embossing powder over the top and heat set.  I applied a few colors of Distress Stain, spritzed with water and heat set.  I then stamped the background and the car.  The sentiment is an older Stampin' Up image.

Thank you for taking the time today to take a peek at my Father's Day cards.  I hope you have a fabulous Father's Day!!

The Double Glitter Technique is the very first stenciling technique that I attempted.  I was immediately in love and haven’t stopped using glitter since.

In May, Dreamweaver Stencils released 11 new stencils and Nouveau Wisteria (LL3026) was one of them. Congratulations (LS22) is an older stencil, but is versatile.  I use is all the time.

The supplies used to achieve this technique are:

Nouveau Wisteria Stencil LL3026

Glitter

Hawaiian Coconut Soap

Stampendous Summer Theme Challenge

This month Stampendous is hosting a Summer Challenge.
Create as many cards as you can using a Summer Theme and this leaves the possibilities endless.  Summer Weddings, Summer Birthday’s, the list goes on and on.
Today I am featuring a card using the Cling Daffodil Girl CRW 071.  I also added some of the beautiful Fran*tage Essentials, such as Aged Gold Embossing Enamel, Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel, Gold Halo Glitter, Crushed Champagne Glitter and Tea Stained Mica Fragments.
Stampendous-TMT(Frantage)
Using the Fran*tage technique is simple and the results you get are beautiful.  I taught a class this weekend creating this card and all students LOVED it.
To achieve, simply sprinkle on the desired color of enamel and then start layering all of the “toppings” such as Glass Glitter, Mica Fragments, Halo Glitter.  There is no need for any fixative, such as embossing ink, we will be melting all of the Essentials together from underneath the paper.
The Stampendous Cling Daffodil Girl was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from the set that can be won this month for playing along, Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.
The Stampendous Gals have been busy this week.  We’d love it if you’d take a look at what they have been creating for our Summer Challenge,
Don't forget, we want YOU to play along with us!  Simply make a summer themed project of some sort and add the direct link for your project to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than Thursday, June 28 at 11:59 PM EST .  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous new Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear stamp set:

As an even bigger incentive, if you use Stampendous products on your project, that entry will count twice, which increases your chances of winning!  Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you an enter as many times as you'd like!) this month...Happy Crafting!
