Dream Scheme Sketch Time & a GIVEAWAY!!!

Good morning everyone!!

Today I am sharing a card made with a sketch in mind from Louise Healy.
This card was made with the Faux Cross Stitching Technique. This is the first time I have tried the technique, and I can definitely see room for improvement, but none the less, I like the result!

First I taped my stencil, Daisies (LL548) to the card stock and I ran it through my brand new Tim Holtz Vagabond (☺Thank you so much MOM). The stencil was then dry embossed. Using Brilliance Inks, I lightly stenciled ink through the stencil. Once I got the coverage I was looking to achieve, I taped my screen over the stencil. Then, once again, I inked the darker colors of pigment ink through the screen and the stencil. You can see in some areas where the colors got under the screen. This happened for two reasons, I had to much ink on the stencil brush and I didn't have my screen close enough to the paper. I should have been holding it down better with my fingers.

On the two openings of the card, I used Vertical Butterflies (LL518). I pasted embossed the openings and then sprinkled them with Multi-Crystal Ultra Fine Glitter.

Inside the card, I stenciled Butterfly Duo (LJ887) on the inside with Platinum Brilliance Inks...

Here is Louise's instructions and sketch....

Wow, this was a lot of work! Great job, love the scrolls at the top and bottom of the daisies, it really finishes them off.

You totally had me fooled! It didn't look like this card opened in the middle at all! Great choice to put the decorative edges on it, it makes the card stunning!

Yummy colors, Wendy! I love how you let people know what didn't go right as well as what did! Such a relief to know that you aren't perfect! LOL. The sketch was fun, but apparently I was confused...I thought it only had one flap because of the wording. Oh, well...lol. Wonderful surprise of the butterfly inside!

Wendy...I love the cross stitch on this flower, I never would have tried it on those delicate petals, but it looks wonderful. LYNELL (writing from my brother's comp)
