Some weekend craftiness!!! CARDS, CARDS, CARDS

Good morning friends...Checking in today with a few cards that I rustled up this morning. I have another quiet weekend here with big game hunting season starting today.

The card that I made this morning was inspired by a few challenges here in blog land. If you are have spare time this weekend, I suggest you check them out. All fun and VERY inspiring! First is the Play Date Cafe. This week is their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Happy Birthday Play Date Cafe. Check out all the fun HERE!!
Here is the inspiring photo!!

I also love playing along with Stampin' Sister In Christ! They always have a great message every Sunday. I so appreciate the small message they have. Thank you Stampin' Sisters! This week we were asked to make a card about prayer. I am always thinking of prayer, and how I can be a better prayer (er) and all scripture makes me think of God and praying with him.

The scripture I used for this card is:

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2

I love this scripture and had to use it on my simple card.

You can view the message and the challenge HERE!

Using Metal for Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge...

Good morning again blogging friends....I had the opportunity today to make a card this morning for the Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge. This week we were asked to make a project using metal. I had some silver metal sheets lying around, so I put a bit of it in a Cuttlebug Edge embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot.....I then dug in the archive of Paper Craft Planet and found a sketch in their sketch challenge.

Another fun challenge that I am entering my card in is the Papercraft Connection September Gallery Challenge. The challenge over there is to use "type or text" on your card.
I was able to get "text" a couple of different ways. First I grabbed a paper pad from K&Co. (Sera Sera) and second a stamp from Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous. Fun, fun!! I also got to use my new Verve Sets!!!

This next photo shows the flowers that I stamped on Graphix Clear Craft Plastic, cut them out and then put the heat tool to it. After a bit, they started to curl beautifully!!!
Thanks for taking the time today to stop by and check out my creation!!

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:
Card Stock: Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight (Stampin' Up); Jet Black (Stazon)
Stamps: Happy Hello, Great Friend (Verve), Stampers Anonymous
Dies: Pinking Circles, Classic Circles (Spellbinders), Edged Square (Nellie's Choice Dies)
Extras: Grafix Clear Craft Plastic, Red Liquid Pearls (Ranger); Metal sheets (craft supply), embossing folder (Provo)

Thanks again, have a good day!!!

Stampin' Sister's In Christ, Our Daily Bread Design (late) and a Dreamweaver!!!

Good morning!!! I hope you are having a great morning so far!! Today I am going to share a couple of cards. One was supposed to be for a challenge, but it is too late. I still want to share though!

My first card was inspired by the Stampin' Sister's In Christ challenge. This week Cindy, who is my Design Team partner at Cardabilities, told us a story of how she has been in a tough position for the last few years, and how her faith has gotten her through the roughest time of her life. Our challenge was to make a card using our "life verse" . As you can see, I chose 1 Corinthians 13 4-5. Who doesn't love this verse! I read it DAILY!!! Thank you Cindy!!! Your challenge was great!
I also made this card for the Our Daily Bread Design Challenge, but my submission was too late. Oops. We were asked to use a die cut or punch on our cards. That is pretty easy for me. I use dies on every card, but in the spirit of the challenge, I busted out the Provo Craft Gypsy, and used the Home Decor cartridge and made the little corner elements. The other dies were no other that my beloved Spellbinders.

Supplies used on my card:
Card Stock: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White (Stampin' Up); Black Shimmer (Island Paperie)
Stamps:1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Ink: Distress Embossing Ink (Ranger)
Embossing Powder: Detail Black (Missoula Memory Lane)
Dies: Provo Craft Cricut Home Decor Cartridge, Classic Scallop & Circle (Spellbinders)
Extras: Pearls (Recollections), Silver studs (I-Rock Gem setting tool); Liquid Pearls (Ranger); Lace (Garage Sale)

This card was just one that was weighing on my mind to make. I love this stencil so much from Dreamweavers and I love this verse. I used Gold Metallic Embossing paste on the cross and it gives such a beautiful shine. (Great job Lynell). I distressed the edges of the card rolled up one side for a more aged look and used Antique Linen and Old Paper Ink on the edges. I matted it on a SUPER SHINY gold piece of card stock. What do you think? Too much??

Here are all the supplies used...
Card Stock: Whisper White( Stampin'Up); White Confetti & Gold Shine (given to me as gift)
Stamps: Scripture Series One (Our Daily Bread Design)
Ink: Distress Embossing Ink, Distress Antique Linen, Distress Old Paper (Ranger)
Embossing Powder: Gold Dust (craft supply)
Gold Studs: I-Rock Gem Setting Tool (Imaginince)

Please let me know what you think of my cards today!!!
I hope you all have a super weekend!!

Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge....Humerous Cards

Good evening blogging friends!!!
Welcome to my Stampin' Sister's In Christ challenge. Our challenge this week was to make a funny or humorous card. I don't really think this card is very funny, but as I was going to make this card, I realized that I don't have any funny or humorous stamps. Of all the stamps I have, this was about it.

Take the time to stop over to Stampin' Sisters In Christ blog and check out all the challenges and some great messages.

Have a good day!!
