Skipping Stones Designs Inspiration Challenge!!!

Good morning!!
Today is Tuesday and that means an Inspiration Challenge from the Skipping Stones Designs Design Team!!!

While the rest of the team followed directions and was creating with this months Featured Set, Cupcake Cuties, I decided to not bother with instruction and just go with the picture.  *SORRY REST OF THE TEAM*

I realized this mistake as I was sitting down to write my post and happened to glance at my Google Reader and saw some of my teammates posts regarding Cupcake Cuties.  Oh well, one of these days, I will figure it out! Ha!!

I was inspired by our darling photo this week and created THIS.....

I used two different sets,  Breathtaking Butterflies and Pumkin Seeds Sentiments.  I stamped the card panel with Pumkin Sentiments with Brilliance Moonlight White and Turquoise Gem Versamagic inks.  I then stamped a solid butterfly from the Breaktaking Butterfly set on white card stock and stamped the matching butterfly image on music score tissue paper.

I followed along with today with Paper Craft Planet's Sketch Challenge, created by our own Wendy Price.

I hope you can find the time in this crazy summer to play along!!!
Link up your original creation to the Skipping Stones Designs blog for your chance to win a free set of stamps!!

Dreamweaver Stencils Summertime Challenge!!!

Good morning and welcome to Dreamweaver Stencils Thursday!!

Today I am sharing a project that I made for Dreamweaver Stencils May Release.

Here are the supplies that you will need:

A few instructional steps:

Lay your craft mat on your work surface and place a few drops of different Color Solutions Alcohol Inks  on the craft mat.  Place your glossy card stock, glossy side down into the ink.    Swirl the glossy paper into the inks, you can pick up the card stock and place it is a different direction if you choose.  The idea is to get coverage on all over the paper.  Color Solutions Inks are Alcohol so they will dry very quickly.

Once your Color Solutions Alcohol Inks are dry, place the stencil of your choice over the inks and paste emboss with Glossy Black Embossing Enamel.  While the paste is still wet, sprinkle Metallic FX over the wet paste and set aside to dry.  Once dry, the excess will shake off easily with a Glitter Magnet.

Using your die cut machine, dry emboss the card base.  The sandwich formula I use for Dry Embossing  Stencils in my Vagabond and Big Shot is: platform, stencil, paper, rubber embossing mat, and two acrylic plates.   The same sandwich also applies to the Cuttlebug.

Supplies:
Stencils: Flourish LJ896, Delicate Star Flower LL3027 (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Paper: Glossy  & White (Bazzill Basics Paper)
Inks. Thistle & Green Gourd Color Solutions Alcohol Inks (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Metallic FX: Ivy Green (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Embossing Paste: Glossy Black Embossing Paste (Dreamweaver Stencils)

I hope you have a chance to try this technique, with our Summertime theme challenge!!  Upload your summertime card to Dream It Up blog for a fun prize!!

Here is a sneak peek of one of the stencils that we are presenting to the retailers at CHA Summer (our bi-yearly trade show). And you could win this stencil if you join our challenge. We are giving away two. A #1 prize to the person who best interprets the challenge and #2 winner for best use of Dreamweaver products. So see?....you don't even have to use Dreamweaver products (of course we are thrilled when you do.)

Stampendous & EnviroTex Resin Finally Meet!!

We're so happy you found us today! We've been enjoying the fun crafting potential of combining our fantastic stamp images with EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from Environmental Technologies.

We've prepared some fantastic projects to inspire you today.  We hope you'll run over to your local Michaels or other craft store and pick up some resin and some Stampendous stamps and get playing.

I want you all to know, that it took me longer to plan these projects than it did to make them.  The resin takes quite a while to cure, set and get solid.

I started with a Tim Holtz Fragment that has a hole in the top for a jump ring.  I stamped Psalm 46:10 from the Stampendous Inspired Verse Perfectly Clear Set (SSC066), onto the clear fragment with Stazon Ink from Tsukineko.  I let the ink sit for a moment, and I mixed my resin together and added just a hint of Silver Halo Glitter to the resin for a slight sparkle.

I started adding resin with the stir stick that is provided in the EnviroTex Resin package. The resin applied almost with the same consistency as honey.

The amazing thing about resin, was I was able to move it around the area I wanted to be protected and it never poured off the edge.  It is thin enough to apply, but thick enough to not run everywhere.

Carmi sent this darling leopard bottle cap with our resin.  I love leopard print, so I mixed Stampendous Black, Champagne, Bronze Crushed Glass Glitter  and Gold Halo Glitter together, trying to mimic the colors of a leopard with the Crushed Glass Glittter.  Here is a quick and shiny refrigerator magnet.

Here is this sparkler in action...

Carmi Cimiata of the Resin Crafts Blog has helped us learn so much about how this product works, what it can and cannot do. We're so appreciative of her and the folks at ETI who sent us all some resin to play with. {big round of applause!}

If you make something fun, please take a picture and put it on our Facebook page! We'd love to see what you're doing!

As you visit each blog, you'll be entered in our drawing for a great prize package when you leave a comment! If you don't tell us you were there by commenting, we can't include you in the drawing! We'll pick a winner from today's comments separate from the commenter's throughout the week. Get hopping!

Dreamweaver Stencils Summertime July Challenge

Good morning,
Thursday again and the Dreamweaver Stencils team is showcasing their July challenge, Summertime projects!!

This week I chose a new technique just brought to us by a wonderful artist Jenn Dove, called Molten Magic.  It is a fun mix of embossing paste, Metallic FX and heat.

Here is a closer look...

Here is a quick step by step:

Paste emboss your stencil with Pearlescent Embossing Paste.  While the paste is still wet, apply Metallic FX as desired.  Heat paste until it bubbles and drys.  The bubbles will add gorgeous texture to your image.

Supplies:
Stencil: LL585 Romantic Rose (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Embossing Paste: Pearlescent (Dreamweaver Stencils)
Stamps: Stampendous July 2012,
Ink: Versamark (Tsukineko), Distress Ink (Ranger)
Extras: Metallic FX (Dreamweaver Stencils), embossing powder (Stampendous)
Die Cuts: Silhouette Cameo

Here is a sneak peek of one of the stencils that we are presenting to the retailers at CHA Summer (our bi-yearly trade show). And you could win this stencil if you join our challenge. We are giving away two. A #1 prize to the person who best interprets the challenge and #2 winner for best use of Dreamweaver products.
