Dreamweaver Stencil Dream Team Sketch Challenge

Good morning!!

Welcome to Thursday!!  Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team challenge day!!!

This week we have a great sketch for you to follow along with!!

Here is my stenciled creation…

Dreamweaver92911

using this sketch…

Sketch 10 Sept 29th

To start this card, I paste embossed Glossy Black Embossing paste on Graphix acetate, using the darling wintery Snowman stencil (LG645 ).  While that was drying, I dry embossed the Damask stencil with White Pearl Coredinations cardstock with my Vagabond machine.

I cut my now embossed Damask LX7001 background to the desired sizes and adhered them to the card base.  The paste embossed snowman is now dry and I can place him right on top with glue dots.  I love how you can see the embossed Damask underneath the acetate.

I simply adhered a piece of lace on the side…Done.

Thanks so much for taking a look today.  For some real inspiration, visit the other members of the Dreamweaver Design Team.  The blog roll is on the right of this post.

Have a great day!!!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge 95

Good morning!!!

Hasn’t SSD had a great month of Sketches??  I have been crazy for each and every one of them.  A BIG thanks to Amy Sheffer for all the great inspiration this month!!!

Here is Sketch 95…

SSD092711-95

My take on the sketch..

SSD95

Today I used a small piece of leftover watercolor paper and stamped Timeless Textures on it with a rainbow ink pad.  I then misted the paper with water and set aside to dry.

In the meantime, I stamped the focal image from the Everyday Blessing set with watermark ink and heat embossed it with clear detail embossing powder.  I then applied ink with a brayer from the same rainbow ink pad.  Once I had desired coverage, I wiped a damp paper towel over the image to remove unwanted in from the image.

Again, I used the rainbow ink pad to stamp the leave from the Everyday Blessings set.  I cut the leave out as an accent.

Supplies:

Paper: watercolor paper, Cajun Craze (Stampin’ Up) Confetti Cream (unknown), Java (Bazzill)

Stamps: Everyday Blessings, Timeless Textures (Skipping Stones Designs)

Ink: Big & Juicy Spice Rainbow Ink (Ranger)

Extras: Gold line border (Elizabeth Crafts), Gold Shimmer Pen (Sakura)

Thank you so much for taking a peek at

my creation today.  Please play along with Amy’s sketch.  You can link up your creation at Skipping Stones Design for your chance to in FREE set of SSD stamps!!!

Stampendous Saturday & Sketch Challenge Reminder…

Changito-Stamping_Blinkie_Sep2011

Good morning Everyone!!!!  Quick reminder that Stampendous’ first challenge is about to come to a close!!  You have until this Thursday, September 30th to enter your take on the fabulous Wendy Price’s sketch…

STM_STM01

Link your project up at the Stampendous Impressions blog, using In Linkz.

Today I am sharing a card I CASED from an email I received from Archivers.

Stampendous92411

I used the Cling Poinsettia Silhouette and Christmas Greetings (CRG119)

I stamped the focal image on ivory cardstock with Bamboo Leaves ink.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed Stampendous Vintage Mahogany embossing powder.  The focal image was originally stamped in green ink, of course I wanted the flower of the poinsettia red, so I used my Versamarker Watermark Pen and filled in the flowers with embossing ink.  I love the Versamarker Watermark Pen because you have so much control of where you can place embossing ink.  After I had my desired coverage of embossing ink, I sprinkled Red Tinsel embossing powder of the flowers and heat set.

I distressed the edges of my cardstocks a bit and adhered it all together!!

Here is a list of supplies I used this week:

Paper: Kraft, ivory (Canvas Corp), Java (Bazzill Basics)

Stamps: Cling Poinsettia Silhouette, Christmas Greetings (Stampendous)

Ink: Versamarker Watermark Pen, Versamark Watermark Ink, Memento Bamboo Leaves (Tsukineko), Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (Ranger)

Extras: Gold Pen (Krylon), Red Tinsel, Vintage Mahogany Embossing Powders (Stampendous)

Thank you so much for stopping by today and seeing my creation.  Please take the time to play along with the Stampendous Sketch Challenge!!!  The last day to enter the challenge is Thursday, September 30th.  The winner will be announced on Saturday, October 1st, which happens to be WCMD and the start of a FUN new Stampendous challenge!!

Dreamweaver Stencil Dream Team Thursday!

Good morning!!

Today kicks off  “free theme” week with  Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team!!

Free theme is when we can post a Dreamweaver Stencil creation that we have made not following any particular theme.

My creation was made for sample boards for CHA Summer.

I used the July release, Holiday Greetings (LJ917)

Dreamweaver92211

First I ran Holiday Greetings through the Vagabond Machine to dry emboss the background.  The stacking formula I used was platform, stencil, card stock (spritzed on the back with rubbing alcohol), rubber embossing mat, and both clear acrylic plates on top of that.  While the stencil was still attached to the paper, I stenciled in different colors of pigment ink.  I then removed the stencil, spritzed the colored image with Iridescent Memory Mist.  On a separate piece of cardstock, I paste embossed “Holiday  Greetings” with Glossy Red embossing paste.  Once that was dry, I matted the cardstock and adhered it to the background image.  I added some red rhinestones for some flair.

Here is a supply list:

Cardstock: Coconut Swirl, Killarny (Bazzill); Iridescent White (stash)

Stencil: Holiday Greetings LJ917 (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Ink: Brilliance Ink (Tsukineko)

Extras: Iridescent Memory Mist (Stewart Superior), rhinestones (craft supply), red embossing paste (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and seeing my post.  Please take the time to look at all the Dream Team’s creations.  You can see the blog roll to the right of this post.

Stampendous Saturday!!!

Hey everyone…Have you played along with Stampendous’ Sketch Challenge yet….there is still time.

Changito-Stamping_Blinkie_Sep2011

Here is the sketch….make a card and link it at Stampendous Inspiration blog

STM_STM01

We can’t wait to see your creations.

Today I have a few cards to share.

The first one was made with my favorite new Stampendous Christmas set, Cling Jumbo Peace Dove Set.

Stampendoussaturday91711

I stamped the dove on white cardstock with Versamark Waterbased Ink and heat embossed with Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I then cut the dove out.

I then stamped “Peace” with Versamark Waterbased Ink on the white card base and heat embossed Detail Gold Embossing Powder over it.

I placed a piece of patterned vellum over the top of the sentiment and adhered it with gold brads.  I added the stamped focal image onto the vellum with dimensionals.

Supplies:

Paper: Mohawk White (Kelly Paper Co.); patterned vellum (stash)

Stamps: Cling Jumbo Peace Dove (Stampendous)

Extras: Detail Gold Embossing Powder (Stampendous), gold brads (Creative Impressions)

Card #2…

I am not very good at Clean and Simple cards, but this birthday card for my youngest ♥BONUS♥ daughter fell together, like I have been making CAS cards all along.

StampendousSaturday

The Stampendous Cling Music Score stamp that I used is an entire background stamp, but I just wanted a bit of the background stamp to show, sooo…I die cut a square out of a piece of cardstock and stamped over the square with the Cling Music Score stamp.  On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the darling birdcage and birdy from Stampendous Tweet Cages Perfectly Clear Stamps and cut it out.  I “hung” the cage with some bakers twine and simply stamped the sentiment from Stampendous Perfectly Clear Birthday Assortment set.

I love CAS.  I need to work on these more often!!!

Supplies:

Paper: Kisses (Bazzill); Mohawk White (Kelly Paper Co.)

Stamps: Perfectly Clear Tweet Cages, Cling Music Score, Birthday Assortment (Stampendous)

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Memento Rhubarb (Tsukineko)

Extras: Baker’s Twine (The Twinery)

Please take a few minutes to visit a few of my good buddies blogs….

I hope you have a super crafty weekend!!!

Dreamweaver Stencils Color Challenge~Gray & Lime Green

Good morning!!

Last week I briefly mentioned that I had a GREAT idea for Dreamweaver’s new Gear (LJ911) stencil and this challenge.

Dreamweaver91511

I won’t tell any fibs about how GREAT my project turned out.  I actually lost the little sketch that I had made myself.  All I could recollect was that I wanted to use acrylic paint on my project and the colors were going to be Lime & Gray.  So here is how it went….

I ran the Gears stencil through my Vagabond machine with gray cardstock.  After my paper was embossed, I applied a nice layer of Eco Green Crafts Lime acrylic paint over the top of my paper and stencil with a brayer.  I really wanted a good coat so I applied heavily, you can see where there was some seeping, I wasn’t too worried about that.

I paste embossed a light green piece of cardstock with the Silver Metallic Embossing paste and set it aside to dry.

Once all my components were dry, I cut the painted piece of cardstock in that funky shape and matted it with black cardstock.  I also matted my lime cardstock with black.  The card base is gray.  I stamped the sentiment twice, once with Versafine Black Onyx on lime cardstock and one with Versamark Watermark Ink on black cardstock and heat embossed with lime embossing powder.  I then cut out just “dreams” and adhered it to the other sentiment.

I adhered the focal panel with dimensionals.

I need your opinion, do you think this could be a card for a man still?  Or is the lime green to girly??

Thanks for stopping by to see my creation today.  Please take the time to visit the rest of the Dream Team today.  You can find a complete blog roll on the right of this post, in the sidebar.

Supplies:

Paper: Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Going Gray (Stampin’ Up)

Stamps: Words of Wisdom (Verve Stamps)

Stencil: Gears LJ911 (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Extras: Lettuce Embossing Powder (Stampendous); Silver Metallic Embossing Paste (Dreamweaver Stencils) Lime Acrylic Paint (Eco Green Crafts); Vagabond die cutting machine (Sizzix)

Dream Scheme Thursday & some Blog Candy Winners!!

First of all, I want to announce some winners from last week’s Dreamweaver Blog Hop with Woodware UK.  I posted on Wednesday & Thursday of last week, so that means TWO lucky people will win Dreamweaver prizes.

From my Wednesday post….Daria

From my Thursday post…Karen B.

Please email Lynell Harlow (lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com), and she will get your prizes in the mail.

Congrats ladies!!!

Until this week, I haven’t had the chance to use the new LJ911 Gears stencil

I don’t know about you, but this stencil  yells  “EMBOSS ME WITH ALUMINUM”!!!

So I listened to it and ….

Dreamweaver-9811

Tah Dah….My Father-In-Law got a birthday card!!

This card couldn’t have gotten any easier.  I simply paste embossed the Happy Birthday (LM239) sentiment with Glossy Black paste and set it aside to dry.

I then ran the Gears stencil through the Vagabond machine with black aluminum.  I then lightly sanded off the black to reveal the aluminum underneath!!!  I love this effect.  While I was making this card, I had another fabulous idea, using this stencil that I will share with you next week during a FUN color challenge!!!

This week you can link up  your fabulous creations at Dream It Up.  You will find the Mr. Linky widget there.

Please visit all the Dream Team’s blogs today to see what they have been doing with their Dreamweaver Stencils.   You will see the entire blog roll to the right of this post!!

I hope you have a great day!

The background on my card is a beautiful handmade paper from Canvas Corp.  The pattern is actually floral, so I tried to hide it with stamping a lot of snowflakes!!!

I punched out nine circles and got to work stamping a Snowflake Symphony on them.  Hehe…that is really what the stamp set is called,  Snowflake Symphony.  I added a bit of Silver Halo Glitter. I punched out a bit bigger circle and stamped my sentiment!!

Here are the supplies I used on my card…

Paper: Sky Blue, Coconut Swirl (Bazzill Basic Paper), Handmade Paper (Canvas Corp)

Stamps: Snowflake Symphony, Cling Merry Magical and Cling Jumbo Merry Magical (Stampendous)

Today I chose a great set with some beautiful butterflies with it, Healing Wings.

I stamped the focal image twice on white cardstock and colored in the wings with Spica Glitter pens.  I cute our the one image and highlighted the other with alcohol ink.

I cut the background patterned paper to size, die cut a few squares and started layering.

Here is a picture of the dimensional butterfly…

The picture doesn’t to the glittery goodness of the butterfly justice.  So pretty in person!!  Love Spica pens!!
